First off, I want to say a big warm thank you to all who left a positive comment on my last post! I was not expecting to get that strong of a response and I am truly flattered with everything everyone had to say! I would like to thank the anonymous hater for writing that comment… it really showed me who my cyber friends are and that I have an awesome support system right here in my own “backyard”. Love you guys… really, I cannot say it enough. You made my day and made me smile to the point of no return. YOU GUYS ROCK!!! Best followers in the WORLD!!!
So… I have to be brief, as the internet cafe is closing soon and the internet is so slow here it took about an hour to upload all these pics… leaving not much time for chit-chat. Also… Vlad is falling asleep right beside me and constantly reminding me that he wants to go to sleep… can someone please tell me what is so different about having kids or a bf?!? I still end up feeling sometimes like a babysitter ;p
Alright! Finally some Peruvian fashion finds! We stumbled upon a complete bridal mall when we were in downtown Lima… these are some of the super cool, super imaginative dresses on display. How effing cool?!!?

Love the “nipple daisies”

What an awesome theme for a wedding… tacky… yes… but love love love the concept!

Peru has some of the most beautiful architecture I have ever seen. I have never been to Europe aside from London, however I imagine a lot of the style and influence comes from Spain… lots of Baroque styling and pastel colors. The balconey’s here are to die for! All hand carved with handmade glass. Gorgeous!

Beautiful knockers for oversized doors. Makes me wish I owned a door worthy of one!

Chillin’! Vlad and I actually fell asleep here for about an hour the first day in Lima… we were soooo tired and jetlagged! There was a flute player right across the street who played lullaby-like tunes until we dozed off.

Street signs! Love the font!

My own bag, with little peoples on it!!!

I picked up a red pair of these flats… I adore them and they were something like $12.oo USD! Crazy, and handmade in Peru!

Hopefully I will get to see a live llama by the time the trip is over ;p

Syl and Babe

Okay, really… this is not as disgusting as I made it look here. Deserts here are a lot of jello’s, puddings, and flans… really yummy stuff!

Did I mention how much I am ADORING the food here?!?!

Roast beef, rice and potato puree… super yums! Rice and potatoes seem to be a big thing here… I’m all for it!

Uggs… they get me through the day – don’t hate on ’em!

Mini biker taxis

Making friends! Woot Woot!!!

More pictures and adventures to come when the mission part of our journey is done! We will be having more free time soon to play tourists and show you guys a bit more of the beautiful Peru!

Oh… and in case you may have forgotten…

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! HAPPY MID-WEEK!!!

BESOS!

My Dearest Babe…

Because I can never really tell you enough
Because you can’t put a price on genuine guy (or person for that matter… but especially guy…)
Because you’ve never done me wrong
Because I beleive you never will do me wrong
Because you make me smile
Because you annoy the hell out of me
Because you refuse to pick up your shit around the house
Because you are sooo good for me
Because you are sooo good to me
Because I know you only have eyes for me
Because I am your Queen
Because you worship me
Because our love is true and deeply understanding
Because I have passion for you
Because you are unconditional to me
Because we are just two peas in a pod
Because I trust you
Because when I am with you, I am home…

I Love You.

Thank you for being every bit completely and totally you. You are my love. You are my life. You make me better and I appreciate everything you do for me and our little family.

… there… just had to send that one out into the universe…

Eternal Love… Fact or Fiction?

Posted in inspiration, love by fashionista514 on May 28, 2009

In this day and age it is getting harder and harder to believe in true unfaltering love.

The stuff of fairy tales.

Is it because these stories fabricated are our idealistic vision of what could ever be, or does it actually exist without our minds being clouded? I’d like to think I’ve experienced it before, but with naivety and youth thrown into the mix – I’m not so sure.

This beautiful/eerie photo of the embracing skeletons above projects on us a tragic “Romeo & Juliet” style love story. It is said that the man was probably killed and the woman later sacrificed to accompany him into the afterlife (found on an industrial site in Mantua).

It is said that the couples remains have been locked in an embrace for more than 5,000 years.

If that is not romantic, I sure as hell don’t know what is!

But back to my original point. In a world littered by seemingly honest people who lie, cheat and destroy the people they love in their lives how do you really know who to trust? I hate to sound like a cynic, but with the sexualization of the world and grown men sneaking around on their wives it makes me pretty weary!

Even when you know someone, do you really?

My Heart’s On Fire

Posted in love by fashionista514 on May 3, 2009
My relationship with my boyfriend is so much a great friendship that sometimes I just step back for a moment and get slapped in the face with butterflies and wind up completely lovesick. Today is one of those days where I just can’t seem to get enough of him. We were packing up boxes for our move tomorrow with a couple of friends and
all I could think about was how lucky I am to have him.

You see, our love was never one that was on fire from the start. We have built up to where we are today and only now are enjoying the lust that most couples burn through during their first few months together. It is a lust that grows like flames fed with air.
We know each others flaws and perfections and that is what we are so attracted to.

Like moth’s to a flame, the light is only getting brighter.

Here is one of my favorite pictures of us together. I love it because he looks so proud to be there with me by his side. Like he won the lottery – so smug ;).

If you’ve got someone special in your life (relationship or not), let them know.

Don’t wait till it’s too late!

Thank You… xox

Date Night at Garde Manger Restaurant

Posted in babe, food, love, my man, vlad by fashionista514 on April 11, 2009
Every now and then, no matter how long you have been in a relationship – you need to get away from everything and remind the special someone in your life that amongst all the chaos it’s still just you and them. DATE NIGHT!!! There is nothing I love more than showing my babe off for all of the world to see how lucky of a lady I am ;). Soooo… we finally got reservations to one of Montreal’s most coveted restaurants in the heart of the Old Port – Garde Manger.

Garde Manger has now been open for about four years, and still remains one of the city’s hottest spots for amazing seafood, cocktails and a new menu every night (written so homely on an old school black chalkboard). The decor is classy, yet rustic and natural (gives hints to a fish market/beach hangout). Upon walking in you instantly feel at home (no wonder I was eating my crab legs so savagely). With a large chandelier hanging over the full dining area, candlelit jars filled with sand, an old school rock and roll soundtrack and dimmed down lighting – it is a place you can tell houses many regulars. Reservations are a must, as it is actually impossible to get a table without one. The bar, however is always open and always serving some quite amazing concoctions. So… We decided to try some of their specialties…
( The “art deco” styled address above)

To start off, I ordered a Caesar (one of my favorite aperitifs!)… Garde Manger makes it rimmed with seafood spices, with your classic celery stick, and with a crab leg protruding from your over sized beer mug! I was in heaven. Crab leg in my cocktail? Bring it on!

Next for the starter, Vlad and I shared the seafood platter for two (first and last picture). The platter nearly took up the whole table and was absolutely succulent! Fresh oysters, shrimp, scallops and crab legs in a very healthy portion delivered with decorative sea kelp, home made horseradish and Tabasco sauce. YUM! My main course was a fish fillet in a shrimp and lobster bouillon with artichoke hearts, and Vlad went for their BBQ baby back ribs – I must say, his plate was better than mine! The ribs practically fell off the bone and were incredibly juicy.

Because we stuffed our faces, we did not get to experience any of their desserts this time round, but next time we will indulge in something sinful while dancing the night away to amazing rock n roll 🙂 Overall rating: 4 stars!

My LovePug!

Posted in family, love, pug by fashionista514 on February 7, 2009

Today is a low day for moi. The only one who is really always there for me is my beautiful pug Bella. Whatever mistakes I have made, however her day has been – she is always rooting for me. Today the sun is shining and it is truly positive outside. Today is a day for the dog run and running errands, with my darling pugzilla with me.

If you don’t have a pug, I highly recommend them for the overall morale of you and all your family members. They snort, fart, burp and wag their little curled piggy tails. Who wouldn’t want one? True characters. I’m so thankful I have her.

My day is starting to feel better…
