Over the past few weeks, I have been both in love and purely addicted to watching Penn & Tellers Showtime hit Bullshit! I have rented every season in DVD’s and am now almost fully caught up to the fifth season… phew!
Penn & Teller are mastermind magicians who translate their art into unveiling all the hoaxes, lies, and misunderstood truths of the world. From Mother Teresa, recycling, boy scouts to religion – they prove that it’s all just a bunch of bullshit with cold hard scientific proof. Now, I know your probably thinking I’m absolutely crazy backing them up that Mother Teresa is a load of bull… but seriously – youtube it and decide again for yourself.

They bring a fresh dose of reality to a world filled with schemes, brainwashing and pure manipulation. It makes you think twice before believing everything you have been told – and there’s nothing I love more than a good old fashioned shit disturber.

Educate yourself, don’t always think that the people giving you the information are always accurate and don’t have a hidden agenda. Don’t be afraid to scream “BULLSHIT” every once and a while either – call ’em on it 😉

Gossip Girl Beauties

Ok, I am not ashamed to say that my boyfriend and I are completely ADDICTED to Gossip Girl! Firstly, how disturbingly hot is everyone on that show? Secondly, I love the drama drama drama! I know it’s mostly predictable, but damn! The fashion, the parties, the two-faced bitches! It all sets a completely new standard as to what defines the young elite and dangerous!

I eat it up!

The Opera… (yawn)

Posted in BORING, entertainment by fashionista514 on March 22, 2009

So, I went to see Montreal’s critically acclaimed “Starmania” Opera show. Now firstly, lets make it clear that I am in no way an opera connoisseur. However I have seen a few other shows, and honestly thought that this one was boooooooring! I don’t know if it was all the wine I downed before the show started at the cocktail party, or the lack of a set, or the fact that all the opera singing characters sounded exactly the same – but it was bad enough for me to leave at intermission! Thank god the tickets were free hookups and I ate and drank my fill at the start 😉

I am in no way meaning to discredit the extremely talented artists who put on the show, just stating that I thought it was a bit of a stale storyline, and was not acted out dramatically enough! When Pecheur des Perles came to Montreal I was there and adored it! The costumes, the set, the dramatisations and passion that you could feel in each song had me hooked! You could feel the raw emotion, the setting, and the strength of the characters! This was what I was expecting! Ah well, better luck next time…

  • Eating whenever you are hungry – none of this “nothing after eight bullshit” (oh, and satisfying attack cravings).
  • Buying incredibly high, insanely gorgeous, ridiculously expensive high heels.
  • Doing something every once and a while that scares you, or puts you out of your comfort zone. Right now, that happens to be taking salsa classes with my boyfriend…
  • Shop, shop, shopping!!! My style is my creative expression – I love learning how to mix and match different things to play up my best qualities!
  • Going to bed early and sleeping ten hours a night (if you can).
  • Drinking lots and lots of water.
  • Overdosing on bubble baths.
  • Loving the person you are with and leaving the past behind.
  • Considering your pets your children.
  • Living each and every day to its fullest.
  • Watching tons and tons of movies!!! With popcorn!!!
  • Singing and dancing in your underwear.
  • Old fashioned romance.
  • Not being ashamed to still admit you love Kraft dinner and Ramen noodles
  • Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds 😉
  • Opening your mind to all the crazy people out there – and finding inspiration from how liberated they are.
  • Not cooking or cleaning sometimes when you don’t feel like it.
  • Sharing a balcony picnic watching the sunset from your high rise apartment building.
  • Long steamy makeout sessions with your lover that don’t have to lead to anything else…

…Stay tuned for more acceptable behaviour…
