Birthday Festivities :)
My birthday morning brunch was spent with these crazy fools…
Lenie (far left) has been one of my best friends since high school, and Robby (center) my stylin‘ gay sexy dancer bud I met in cegep are waaaay too much fun!
We sported our most fashionable Zoolander faces at my favorite coffee hangout – Cafe Holts here in the 514. I ordered my regular
“Brunch Tartine” (an open-faced Parisian style toasted sandwich with poached eggs, sauteed mushrooms, smoked salmon and baked tomatoes… yuuuuuum!)
and washed it all down with some freshly squeezed O.J…. freeeeesssssh!
The b-day cake they surprised me with – half massacred… chocolate mousse in the morning… “Happy Birrrrrthday to meeeeeeeee“….
Lenie afraid of Robby’s overly affectionate ways…
Andy (a.k.a. the gingerbread man)
and I have known each other since our first minute of cegep where our lockers were right across from each other
. The rest is history my friends…. so much amazing history!!!
The beautiful Lenie! Sooo sexy in public places…. rrrowwww!
This is what a male model would look like on Star Trek… sooo beautiful in space…. lol
Vlad’s Uncle (above) spins my friend Mimi and takes over the dance floor…. add me to facebook – I will be adding the video VERY VERY soon (so worth checking out – you will DIE)!!!
Threesome! Dora (yellow) joins Vlad & I’s relationship (finally)!
Babe and the beautiful Nabila (she is the most gorgeous dentist I have EVER seen – so lucky to have her examine my mouth) toasting by the bar
My babe and I joking around… as usual…
Antonina (Vlad’s Dad’s Girlfriend) and I chillin‘ waiting for the guests to arrive!
Luckiest. Girl. Alive.
Some of the stunning guests!
They hired caterers and wait staff! Party fit for a Princess! There was a BBQ, a crazy assortment of Romanian food and huuuuuge desert platters! Oh, and drinks outside by the pool was a veeeery nice touch…
Caaaaake! I was freakin‘ amazing. Hazelnut rum cake with cream filling (very European), washed down with a toast of champagne
Babe = My Romanian translator
Me, Vlad, Vlad’s Dad Horatiu & his beautiful girlfriend Antonina waiting in line for CAKE! Tee hee…
Babe looking uber handsome
On the count of three lets all attack Dora!!! One….
…. two….
My dad & I (drinkin‘ some green tea) on the patio in the backyard after an AMAZING dinner at Japanese restaurant Fuji (they cook everything in front of you on the table). Mmmmmm
Dylan (my dad’s doggie), and my bro under the influence…. hehehehehe…. My bro, Vlad and I later celebrated my birthday with a Sunday Morning brunch at my moms (she made a delicious lemon cake I have been enjoying for breakfast in the morning) full with fresh fruit & coffee, sandwiches, and a delicious spanish omelette (one of her many specialties).
I would just like to brag a little itty bit more… I have the most amazing boyfriend, friends and family one could ever wish for!!! I am so grateful and my heart feels like its going to explode after all the generosity shown for my birthday!
Marilyn Monroe Contest / My Birthday!
Country Air / Gramps 80th B-day!
(My two cousins and I)
It was my grandfathers 80th birthday surprise party this weekend – a real milestone! Seeing the generations of children and grandchildren makes me look forward to my 80th birthday party too – you see all your hard work before you
(What can I say… I’m surrounded by boys!)
I got some awesome chill time in with my bro – we have 9 years between us and have never fought in our lifetimes. We look out for each other and I love his individual character (the t-shirt is a sure sign of a strong personality).
(Vlad, Me and Skye smooching)
(my gift to my gramps – one of my ink drawings)
(Beautiful Mama rockin‘ the red leather jacket)
(Here’s the star of the show cutting his B-day cake)
My aunt Tanya made the birthday cake (carrot cake with cream cheese icing), and everyone always kinda potlucks at my family gatherings… I brought the sweets we got from Morocco, and gourmet chocolate chip cookies… oooooh, and some bubbly to celebrate!
(My Aunts super cute boston terriers – Brutus & Max)
(We both like to stick our tongues out…)
(The bed and breakfast where we stayed while in the country – you’d think this was a bathroom…)
Because so many of us went up, Vlad found us a beautiful Bed & Breakfast (online) to stay at for the night. We checked into Lee Farm Bed and Breakfast and instantly adored the homey vintage style of our room. The B&B is an old farm and farmhouse located on a large piece of land just down the road from my grandfathers house. With a beautiful outdoor spa and saltwater pool, it is truly a haven for privacy and rest & relaxation!
(… but it is in fact THE room with only a bath!!!)
(Seriously, how cool is that?)
(Vlad booked the beautiful “honeymoon suite” – all gorgeous antiques)
I woke up feeling incredibly rested and full of energy (once I got over my initial wake-up groggy state) – takes a good 30 min at least.
(Warming up inside in front of the fireplace)
(When in the country – climb a tree!)
(I used to spend hours in this tree when I came up to the country as a little girl…)
(… seems like I still have the monkey gene…)
(ahhhh.. patient boyfriends… don’t you love ‘em?)
Sunday morning we headed over to my grandfathers place for some home made brunch…. Your classic scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, pancakes (with both maple syrup and lemon juice and sugar), toast, coffee, orange juice…. SO good!
After a good Romanian easter dinner (soooo much food today), we headed home and have since been chillin‘. The lady who watched puggers for us also cleans homes – so we came back to a sparkling and serene home and a tired out pug!
Party, Party… Dance Dance!!!
Since it is Monday and there are no great inspiring parties going on in mtl, I will just have to sit it out and let my inner party build till Saturday night. We are going out to celebrate my best friend Dora’s 30th birthday! I tell her time and time over that I can’t wait to get to thirty… I know it will sneak up on me before I know, but honestly it is said that the thirties are the start of the best years of a woman’s life. So, as I continue to live it up as a twenty three year old… I anxiously await those promising years
. I like to think of them as the Sex and the City years… Independence, career, possibly man (here’s hoping), maybe children (yikes!). Although I just seemed to sum it up in a pretty scary/dependant way, it seems like I should be having lots of freedom… damn fictitious television with designer bags… Well I can dream, can’t I?
