Fashionista Find – Thomas Sabo Sterling Silver
For those of you who follow my blog, you have for sure first handedly experienced my love for my Thomas Sabo charm necklace… featured lately in nearly EVERY outfit post that I have done!
This designer I just so happened to stumble upon completely by accident (don’t you love that?!?). I was shopping with my mom downtown and she loves to jewellery store window gaze (not usually my thing)… and behold! I saw these quirky little customizable charms where you could build your own necklaces and bracelets.
What I love the most is that Thomas’ jewels are the new and improved version of the charm bracelets we all used to have and collect as kids – made in sterling, to last (and not turn green or rust… ughhh…. remembering back in the day…) and also with a lot more of a thought out design. While the line still supplies the classic girly charms, the collections that are released seem to have more personality as well as a bit more of a modern approach. Instead of bikinis, heels and lipstick charms, us ladies (and gents) can rock out with swords, skulls, bulldogs, headphones and sneakers! Now THERE is an insta-improvement!
Ohhhh… would LOVE to get my puggers some of these for her collar… the thing is I would FOR SURE steal them for moi :p
I WANT I WANT I WAAAANTTTT…. that bulldoggie charm… please excuse my brattiness… I swear it’s only temporary…Fashionista 514 in Hawaii Outfit Post – I heart Bebe!!!
Soooo… I must say that I ABSOLUTELY ADORE HAWAII AND NEVER EVER WANT TO COME HOME… buuuuuut… I am a true 514er at heart and could never really mean it (or could I???). Today’s find… Bebe! Now I know this is old news to the rest of the world, but to us Montrealers, Bebe is yet another great store (just like Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works to name a few) that we are quite unlucky to not have at our fingertips. So for those of you who have access to this store and just take it for granted – give it another chance… I found some great treats
…The perfect dress for dinner dates…
…The world is my catwalk… can’t wait to go out dancing in this number!
Jewelled brooch appliques is where I’m at!
… and so a shoe love affair began… as if I’m not tall enough naturally at five foot ten!
next post… SURFS UP!
Check me out y’all… I’m Badass… ;)
well, this post is a badass post… (if you haven’t already figured that out), but it’s also a product review for a shampoo and conditioner I really love… Badass Hair (how fitting… *tee hee*)
Today I will be reviewing Wicked Mint Shampoo and Silky Sweet Condition from the Badass Hair line… yum yum yuuuuuum!
American in Style.
Rugged in Attitude.
Defiantly Creative.
“At it’s core, Badass Hair is driven by iconoclastic stylist Scott Fontana. With a fiercely independant business style and a maddening obsession with quality, Badass Hair offers the sophisticated consumer a taste of luxury while retaining a streetwise, Badass attitude.”
…. sooooo me, right?
Did you see the packaging?!?
Glam enough for even the princesses of punk…
Oh, and of course helping you to all release a bit of your inner wild child… hang on to your hats… here we go
Being a little bad is VERY freeing feeling (hey MJ said it right)… not only does it break you out of your little bubble of self, but it also gives you a rush, some shock and breathes a new stream of air into your life. Breaking the rules, riding on motorcycles, making dumb faces (you will be seeing a lot of this in my pics… you know… I had to “educate”you… yes… that is my excuse), being spontaneous, daring yourself, making your own rules, wearing studs and leather… this is just the beginning! There is just sooo much ground to cover…
Personally, I find it incredibly hard to act badass when I am not dressed to kill… (c’mon, try breaking some rules in a sun dress – just not the same effect). Slap on some lipstick, smokey eyes, high heels, chains, spikes, pleather – whatever! Just transform yourself a little bit into that person that is hiding in the corner of your brain, chained down by ridiculous laws and rules set upon us by society, family and friends… oh, and your little friend “ettiquette” is the one in there holding the whip… break free girlies – if only for a morning jog
The little things I do to surprise myself and get a rush out of…
- cut my hair different every time
- say what I want when I want
- Make-up in vampish colors
- exhibitionism in the home (there – my secret is out)
- Say “fuck you” to chores and enjoy the sun
- Dance on the bar
- Shots, shots, shots (blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol)… make me feel strong like man!
- Splurge on louboutins and handbags… always gives me a naughty rush (like I’m not supposed to – ummmm… reminder… you only live once… at least I’m livin’ in louboutins
- Trying new and exotic foods! I’m adventurous like that…
And now for THE MONEY SHOT!!! Yes, I am topless… and yes those shampoo’s are the only things covering my tee-taa’s… you see… I haven’t even washed my hair yet and they are ALREADY bringing out the inner badass in me… I’d hate to see what happens next…
I thought I’d be more thorough with this review… so let me all welcome you to my hair-washing, bubble bath, Badass review hair experience…a.k.a…. my bathtub!!! Woot woot… party’s ON!!!
Oh! There’s my drink… a badass bath just wouldn’t be the same without a stiff drink… (Redbull/White cranberry Belvedere Vodka Martini with a splash of lime if you were wondering) now where were we…
Wicked Mint… what it is:“A rich lathering shampoo with healing properties of Tea Tree Oil to cleanse hair and scalp”
… and oh boy does it ever! Firstly, I have always been a mega fan of shampoos with cooling oils integrated into their recipe – there is no better feeling than a mint tingle on your scalp to refresh yourself on some of the hottest days of summer. The smell wakes you up in the morning as a natural aromatherapy, and it leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean without stripping away all it’s natural oils! This shampoo really lathers up very well (as you can see in the pics), and with the excess soapy foam I used it as a great shaving cream for my underarms and legs (my legs loved the cooling sensation from the mint… gimme more)!
Silky Sweet Condition… what it does:“Rich in proteins, vitamins and amino acids to energize weak, hungry for moisture hair”.
First of all, let me just say… this conditioner smells like sweet tarts, or rockets… so in my books it has already won! I love this conditioner because it is very rich in texture, creamy – but without the residue that is often left after some products. Also, you can kill two birds with one stone by using this as a hair mask (please refrain from hurting any actual birdies – Badass DOES NOT test on animals so it would really just cancel out all their good efforts)! I color my hair (yes, I have greys already – bastard genetics), so I need all the hydration I can get! This conditioner does a great job at untangling unruly hair BEFORE you brush… easy peazy I tell ya…
Soooo… I have both a Wicked Mint Shampoo AND a Silky Sweet Conditioner courtesy of Badass Hair to share with one lucky reader to indulge in! YAY!

Babes New Car… R-R-R-R-Roadtrip!!!
So… amazingly enough, this IS NOT a joke and Vlad just bought this insanely sexy, fast and GORGEOUS Porsche 911 CONVERTIBLE!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Alright, now before you think we are millionaires or something… lets get a few things clear… He found this on eBay for the insanely low price (for a Porsche anyways) of $26,000… ummmm… my friends new Chevy Cavalier cost her four grand more than our Porsche, so I’m thinking its a pretty sick deal…
It is currently in Pensylvania just waiting for the movers to come and pick it up
So here is the question I have for all of y’alls…
Vlad and I have about three weeks of vacation coming up… and we are definately going on a roadtrip convertible Bonnie & Clyde style to California to see some friends and family. We will be stopping around the U.S. along the way and want to know where we should go and what we should see, eat, experience… anything you can think of!
Dare us to try something? Know about fun and daring activities in the U.S. where we can stop (keep in mind our route from Montreal to Cali – must be along the way)?

Calling All Collectors!!! Rice & Beans Vintage Interview
R.C. What do you look for when selecting vintage items?
S.K.C. The first thing I look at when selecting a vintage or designer piece for Rice and Beans Vintage is the quality. I’m not a huge fan of polyester unless the piece is exceptional. I look for unique materials & cuts that can withstand the test of time in a style sense, but also remain current and fresh. I always have the current runway and style trends in the back of my mind when choosing a piece.
R.C. Where do you get most of your clothing, shoes and accessories from?
S.K.C. I have a variety of amazing sources of which I cannot divulge!
(Vintage 40′s WHITING & DAVIS Silver Metal Mesh Bag w/Cherub & Floral Frame)
S.K.C. If you love it and it makes you feel beautiful, you’ve found it! S.K.C. Choose pieces that you love and gravitate towards. Don’t worry too much about getting it right or achieving the magazine look because in the end you won’t be comfortable and it will show.
R.C. How does a shopper know when they’ve found themselves a great vintage deal?
(Vintage 80′s OLEG CASSINI Bead & Paillette Blouse or Micro Mini Dress w/Batwing Sleeves)
R.C. Any beauty tips for gals looking to embrace their inner “vintage goddess”?

Pieces of Me… I’ve Got Mail!
So this morning I opened the door to the postman showering me with gifts (don’t you love it when everything comes at the same time)?!? Amazing! What a great start to the day! So, first thing opened up was the beautiful custom order hand crocheted pug from fellow blogger
“Hmmmmm… what the hell are you”?!?
Be sure to check out Miss Tia’s page for a great mothers day gift (alongside a bouquet of flowers it is a heartfelt homemade gift)
. Mom have a beloved pet? Send pics and she will make them exactly (hey… my pug was fooled)!
Ah, and now we move on to post item #2 – a uber girly pink gummy cover for my Blackjack! Woot woot! I scored this find off eBay for a little under $10 (thank you eBay)!
I am an insane text messager/e-mail writer (I even blog from my phone occasionally), so my phone is my sidekick in life… now I can do it all in style
I am a big fan of fake lashes when I go out on the town and scored these Red Cherry lashes (once again on eBay – my saviour) for $10 for a pack of twelve! Amazing! I usually use MAC lashes, but honestly find that even with my discount they too much to pay for cheap thrills. I like that these are made of natural hair and will definitely blog a review when I get a chance to wear them out! Can’t beat that deal though – raid eBay for the same find and for some great “extreme” lashes in different colours (great for dress up, costumes and specialized looks).
Here is the ink drawing I am working on right now… far from complete, but in progression. My art gives me peace of mind. I love zoning out with my music on and my imagination running. Bold color is always a must! I am thinking of making prints for stationery very soon… I will keep you all posted!
I think it is about time I introduced you all to my marvelous blogging tool – my laptop! Now, I even blog in style my dears with my Sony VAIO with a chocolate brown snakeskin back…. rrrrowwww! The first moment I saw it I knew it was love. Practicality married to Fashion. Perfect for a fashionista!

It seems like I just placed the order yesterday, and somehow she is already done! Crazy lady! I thought she did my pug Bella justice and even caught the curled pig tail detail
Seriously, how friggen cool is she?!? Talented, beautiful and intelligent… I can’t wait to get my model version of Bella! The custom order was $25.00 and all I had to do was send a pic of my pugger! Amazing gifts for friends and family
Retro Glam Sparkle!
Here are some personal pieces I put together to create a retro glam look – with a walk on the modern side (confused by my contradiction yet!?). I adore the colour black. In a patent shine, soft leather, faded out denim, sparkling or satin finish – black is multi-faceted and very versatile.
I scored these over the top chandelier earring diamond look alikes at Aldo for $30.00. I love pairing them with the faux diamond chunky ring (below) $25.00 (Aldo), jeans, and some killer heels… top it all off with black winged eyeliner and sexy is mine!
Around Christmas last year I treated myself to this gorgeous Gucci watch. I wear it like it is jewellery – not a watch. I love that it isn’t bulky and carries the brands signature horse bit trademark into its styling. One of my investment pieces!
The jewelled clutch which I snatched up from Nine West is another undeniable favorite and instant classic to my life. Altogether, this combo calls for a slick martini and MAC’s russian red lipstick to pull it all off
You will see me sparkle from a mile away
