Tag – I’m It!
I generally use MAC because I have a discount there and they have some amazing products, but also love YSL and Chanel.
Definately! How could you not? Montreal girls have got it going on! I check out the ladies every day when I’m walkin’ down the street for inspiration. They’ve got that “too cool” look to them mixed in with a kick of effortless sexiness.
Montreal has its own version of Ben & Jerry’s called Billboquet. They make homemade ice cream and only have two shops in town. My flavor is chocolate with white chocolate chunks, pecans and brownie pieces. For any ice cream conaisseur it is a delicacy!

The Story Behind My Profile Pic…
My boyfriend took these pictures before I headed out for a night on the town last October for a Halloween Party… I got decked out in my old uniform from the supperclub Buonanotte where I worked as a waitress (yes that`s right – a sequined dress and patent leather wedges is considered professional there My Personal Louboutin Collection
I am a collector – a fashion collector! Christian Louboutin heels are my pride and joy. Not only are they drop dead gorgeous shoes, but they make you feel like an unstoppably sexy woman every single time you put them on. Here are a few pics of my four beautiful pairs and the story behind each of them…
These cream dreams I got at the Louboutin store in NYC’s Greenwich Village. It was sensory overload when I walked into that little store and saw the hundreds of different Louboutin styles. Here in Montreal, we are very lucky if we get a dozen different styles (all of which are usually very conservative). I saw these and fell in love. It is practically impossible to find these, as they are constantly selling out before they even reach Montreal. A shoe dream came true when I got these
These grey studded pumps I have never seen anywhere else. I scored these on ebay for a fraction of what they are selling them for in stores (I made a deal with the seller), and love them to shreds!
I love the contrast of the bright red soles to the grey mousy suede! Mmmm…
These gorgeous teal peep toe heels were love at first sight (well, then again… probably every louboutin heel is…). I tried these on at Rosenstein in Montreal and just knew they were right for me.
A little Bit About Me
- I am in no way, shape or form a morning person – I have always woken up puffy-eyed and completely out of it!
- Whenever I leave the house, I put my face on
- I am not a big drinker – I love tea and sometimes some kind of ice coffee via Starbucks
- I used to be a makeup artist (and, well once a makeup artist – always a makeup artist)! I still sneak some jobs in when I have the time
- I studied fashion design in school and worked with a Montreal Designer for about a year.
- I love all things salty.
- Right now I am working with my boyfriend at his construction company (hehehehe… I get to chill on the sites in my heels), helping with a bit of everything from choosing appliances, tiling, flooring to showing clients apartments and taking care of signing the leases etc… There is not much I do not do, and as a result the two of us spend our days together in his pickup truck together racing around town in lingo
- We are currently taking salsa dance lessons with his dad and his girlfriend.
- My boyfriend is a big ebay junkie and therefore has helped me buy and sell things at amazing prices (like louboutins!)
- I made some smart decisions with my money a while back, so I am not dependant on a job to survive (at least at the moment).
- I will be moving into a brand new (free) luxury condo next month that I designed (I will post pics when the construction is done)! No rent to pay makes for a better lifestyle – that’s for sure! It’s my boyfriends company that renovated and owns it, so for us there is no expense!
- I have a crazy pug baby at home that is for sure actually a mix of monkey, bat and cat
- I have worked many different jobs! I have been: a seamstress, a heavy machine operator, a personal assistant, a retail saleslady, a model, a waitress at a supperclub, a bartender, a dishwasher, a dresser (behind the scenes at fashion shows), a makeup artist, a sous chef, a choreographer (for fashion shows), and now a leasing agent/interior design aide! Apparently I do not discriminate!
- I am an artist. I have always loved writing, painting and doing my ink drawings. Lately I have been expressing myself with both this blog and letters. I think there is nothing better than getting something nice in the mail
- I do cook and clean, but prefer not to. I do not believe that it is my JOB to be do these things all the time for my boyfriend. As a result, we have a very balanced relationship and I get to enjoy a nice dinner made for me every once and a while!
- I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. You go through hard stuff to be stronger and get to experience the good stuff as a reward.
- I was blessed to have a kick ass metabolism which allows me to eat whatever I like and how ever much of it I see fit! I still try to stay healthy, but I am 5’10 and a size 4. Pretty lanky!
- I had a modelling contract for a year, but it was just not for me. Not the kind of world that inspired me or was healthy (for my body, but especially for my mind). Sadly, I learnt that many of the stereotypes about models are true. The don’t eat much (no, slimfast does not count girlies), and they are generally really overtly into themselves. So, when my contract was up, I moved on to bigger and better things!
- I horseback ride! I used to ride when I was younger, and I have gotten back into the saddle as of summer! I go to my lessons every week, and my body tries it’s best to catch up for lost time.
- I love to ski, again something I used to do a lot of but got back into this year!
- I have some amazing friends that defy the laws of coolness
As you can see, I lead a pretty damn charmed life – and I know it! Regardless, life is hard sometimes and it is all about your perspective! Don’t lie to yourself and tell yourself you are happy if you aren’t, but try to make the most of every situation and opportunity that comes your way. In the long run it will pay off. Never forget though to satisfy your cravings in the now too! These moments are what make life worth living!
Things I agree with…
- Eating whenever you are hungry – none of this “nothing after eight bullshit” (oh, and satisfying attack cravings).
- Buying incredibly high, insanely gorgeous, ridiculously expensive high heels.
- Doing something every once and a while that scares you, or puts you out of your comfort zone. Right now, that happens to be taking salsa classes with my boyfriend…
- Shop, shop, shopping!!! My style is my creative expression – I love learning how to mix and match different things to play up my best qualities!
- Going to bed early and sleeping ten hours a night (if you can).
- Drinking lots and lots of water.
- Overdosing on bubble baths.
- Loving the person you are with and leaving the past behind.
- Considering your pets your children.
- Living each and every day to its fullest.
- Watching tons and tons of movies!!! With popcorn!!!
- Singing and dancing in your underwear.
- Old fashioned romance.
- Not being ashamed to still admit you love Kraft dinner and Ramen noodles
- Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds
- Opening your mind to all the crazy people out there – and finding inspiration from how liberated they are.
- Not cooking or cleaning sometimes when you don’t feel like it.
- Sharing a balcony picnic watching the sunset from your high rise apartment building.
- Long steamy makeout sessions with your lover that don’t have to lead to anything else…
…Stay tuned for more acceptable behaviour…
Coffee Shopper
- Job in my field! Although I am enjoying my current employment as “Leasing Agent” for luxury apartments, my heart lies in fashion! I love that I am doing the interior design for the new units as well – it is truly awesome, but my end goal is to work with a fashion magazine publication here in Montreal. I am a Montreal girl – my heart, soul and love support are all here… no such thing as moving away from my friends and family. Just not an option, even though New York city is magazine central!
- Boyfriend girlfriend drama… well I won’t get into too many details, but I find relationships sooo hard (especially moving on from past relationships). How do people have the courage to repeatedly open their hearts to new people without comparing everything about them to the past? I love my boyfriend to shreds, but sometimes I find it very hard to relate to him. This always is a head breaker!
- It’s fashion week! Here in Montreal our finest display their great talent all week on the runways of the Bonsecours Market in the Old Port. I have just not had the same urge to attend as previous seasons! I will be attending the Marie St-Pierre show tonight at 9pm, and am excited about that… but the weather seems to imitate my icy mood of the moment and I don’t even want to think about trekking across half the city to attend a fifteen minute show
. This is not like me, but Canadian winters I guess have a way of teaching you some things about yourself.
- My Ex. I am not someone who dwells on the past, however I can’t seem to wrap my mind around the fact that my ex is getting married. At 23! I don’t know, this just seems to be an impossibility to me. So young, so weird that we dated. Weird weird weird. I am very happy for the both of them (and that is not just something I am saying to appear like the un-jealous girlfriend – I really do mean it), it really just blows my mind.

The future. What does it behold? I know you can never determine what you will do or who you will become, but somehow I feel wildly out of control and suffocatingly restrained. I want to travel, love, live, feel, touch and taste everything in my sight. I feel impatient and almost like things can’t happen fast enough. This is the itch of youth I assume. The idea that there is never enough time to adventure into life. I want children, but am afraid of a routine that would kill my freedom. I want a husband but am afraid of being taken advantage of over time and not even realizing it – feeling trapped. I sometimes think I would be just as happy to be a travelling gypsy or a beach bum selling shell necklaces from my hammock – but no, that would be the easy way out. I am scared I will die without enhancing or enriching anybody else’s life in a massive way. Some days I ooze wisdom, today I stink of fear and insecurities.
Today I am fragile, emotional, and as you can see nothing is broken but it still feels like it needs to fixed.
On a happy note, I am counting down the days till June 3rd – Billy Joel & Elton John are coming to Montreal on their world tour and yours truly has tickets!!! This is my past wrapped up in a concert – I never thought I would see my idol Elton live… and now one of my dreams will be realized! Just hope I won’t be globetrotting in Romania, Paris or South Africa by that point (I will be there this summer). Then again, I love how unscripted my life really is
Now there is something to smile about!
