How true is this quote… I cannot even begin to explain… Some women can handle being in a relationship ruled by a man. Some can handle being suffocated and held down from achieving their dreams. Some can accept that no matter how devoted they are to their man, they will never see it returned. Some can put their lives on hold for another, only to find out in the end that their lives are already over.

I am proud to say that I am not, and never will be one of these women. I have found my wild match who, chases me actually, and keeps me reaching for everything I ever wanted to achieve. If one day he were to change, he would have been the one who had made me strong enough to not care, and just do it anyways . Thank you babes – you have given me the priceless gift of self worth, confidence and “fuck the world, I’m gonna do whatever I want”

So, as if a beautiful card filled with beautiful words and a NARS lipstick weren’t enough… darling Chrystina included this super funky/fresh red & black zebra print bangle!!! Groovy baby (that is my tribute to Austin Powers… I will shut up now…)!!! I LOVE THIS BRACELET! I can already feel it’s gonna be bringing out my wild (favorite) side…

Thank you girl! Your package was so thoughtful and packed with a taste of your personality – tres cool… I consider this bracelet some kind of friendship bangle – def always think of you when I wear it.

A Moroccan/African Feast for Your Eyes!

Yesterday Vlad and I went to pick up my mother-in-law Alice at the airport after her two week vacation to Morocco and Gabon! Get a load of all the amazing goodies she brought back for Vlad and I!

Delicious and super fresh cookies from Morocco! So delicious I’ve been overdosing on them since we got them

Ebony letter openers from Gabon

This gorgeous wooden hand made box from Morocco (each little star is made up of many tiny pieces of wood)…

The necklace above is made out of ivory, and the plate underneath of an African wood – so natural and beautiful!

These toothpick-like things are made of ebony from Gabon as well. Used for entrees where you would normally put a toothpick for finger foods. In its little vase it resembles a pineapple!

This beautiful mountable carving was made by hand in Gabon of mother & child by a tree. If you look closely you can see the wood has been dyed different colors!

My boyfriend used to collect medieval weapons, so his mom brought him back a machete!!! I have no idea what we are going to do with this, but it’s pretty freakin‘ cool!

Ah, and I saved some of the best for last… while Alice was there she hit up the Moroccan market big time, taking with her fresh Argan Oils (both beauty care and for cooking) and Shea butters a la bulk! I’m going to break off pieces of the shea butter for bath oil (it melts in the hot water).

Alright, so another shopping day – this time via my wonderful little laptop from the comfort of my bed – could shopping be any better?!? I have recently discovered Mario Badescu skincare… and have since been wondering how I have survived thus far without it…

I am a fiercely loyal Erno Laszlo enthusiast, however after filling out the online skin analysis on http://www.mariobadescu.com/, I was offered to try some of their samples. Since I am up here in the great white north, it took a bit longer to get here than promised. Never the less I received them about a week ago today and have trying to make them last as long as possible . They sent me a beautiful little kit with a seaweed face wash, kiwi face scrub, flower and tonic face mask, aloe eye cream and toner and an spf face moisturizer that my skin has been enjoying very, very much! I figure since the two lines are made up of mostly natural ingredients that I can switch around some of my routine to add some good old fashioned fun . So, I ordered the flower and tonic mask (has an absolutely amazing smell, and my face glowed after the treatment), the brands infamous drying lotion (supposed to be able to zap pimples overnight), and the amazing spf facial cream! A great plus is this lines affordability – the line ranges from $6 – $40! Erno is quite a bit pricier, and my full order at Mario cost the same as one product from Erno…. hmmmmm…. who knew cutting costs could be so fun?

A Brand New Toy from Babe…

So I came home the other night to my boyfriend (better known as Babe) who had a surprise waiting for me (man do I love surprises)! You see, he is very into remote control cars – yeah, kinda dorky but hey – we all have our niches right?! So, he knows how much I adore the Mini Cooper (if I drove, that’s what I would have), and bought me a remote control version of it!!! I am in no way, shape or form much of a car girl but let me tell you – I am ecstatic!!! It is a gorgeous little red one like the pic, that he has been building and fixing for me so that I can bring it to the park and chase my pug around! Pug is already pretty afraid of it though and avoids it at all cost So, I’m lovin‘ the thought that went into this… When you try to give something you love so much and get so excited about to someone else to enjoy. Truly the sweetest gesture! Love my man
