Fashionista Finds – All Around Lima
So today´s post is a lot of randomness… but I hope you will enjoy my Peruvian loves… above is the posse I have been chillin´with! I never knew that I would make such good friends on a volunteer mission… score!
Visited a much loved Italian restaurant here in Lima… Mama Lola´s! Delicious in-house pizza´s and home made pastas… fresh, tasty and simplistic… hitting all the right spots… they also let you write on the walls, sooooooo… of course I had to represent!!!
Who knows… maybe someone will look it up randomnly from eating here… I will keep you posted! This world works in strange and mysterious ways, I don´t doubt the possibility…
Everybody gets to that ¨point¨while on vacation with their significant other where throwing them off the cliff seems like an amicable option… here I demonstrate with the babe :p Hehehehehehehe….
Yes… so that cliff pic was obviously taken before this one…
Incan ruins! They are so meticulously built and beautiful. Positioned towards the sea and the sun… they must have been absolutely gorgeous intact back in the day.
How beautiful is this message? Written on the walls of Mama Lola’s Italian Restaurant. Oh romance… {sigh}
Some super cool cactus plants
I am SUPER envious that they have Mc Donalds takeout… Montreal!!! Wake up!!! What are you waiting for?!?!
Alright, now I don’t know if this has any association whatsoever to thecoolhunter.net, but if it does (and even if it dosn’t), go directly here now. A site not to be missed *thank you*I’m off to bed now… catching a flight in a few hours up to Cuzco *Macchu Picchu town* Going to be very tired… but ready for all the shopping and natural beauty of the mountains! This week is all about being a tourist, so get ready for some pic heavy posts full of Peru’s best.
Besos!!!
Tattoo Mania!
Tattoos are EVERYWHERE these days… the beautiful expression of art etched into your skin… forever… Okay, I’m sorry – that was NOT supposed to sound as morbid as it did
I absolutely ADORE tattoos and truly believe that the people who pull them off always look completely unattainably cool… however I don’t know if I could ever be one of those people…. it just seems like a bit of a stretch for me.
Besides… I practically have ADD when it comes to EVERYTHING (lose interest pretty damn quickly… although that IS something I am working hard at), so picking just one design that I need to stick with for all of eternity seems like a pretty bad idea…
I once went for a consultation with a tattoo artist because I was utterly convinced I was going to get a Polynesian style bird design on my foot (bird = robin = Robyn *my name*… symbolism crap… I thought it was pretty clever too…). I was all prepared and psyched until he started telling me about how tattoos normally age… details blur into each other, colors fade, etc… I started to freak. You see, I don’t mind eternally altering my body for art… however it must keep looking good eternally! So, I backed out and that was the end of that!
I have never been able to find a design I am completely in love with or that holds significant symbolic relevance to me. I do know the addiction associated to getting a tattoo… the feeling that one is no longer enough, and you want one here and there… until finally your body is doused in them! I have a belly button piercing and LOVE it, and still to this day consider piercing all sorts of places… however at the end of the day I look at myself in the mirror and laugh – cause I would look like a total white trash fool if I did that to myself… I’m just too preppy or something… I don’t have the cool factor needed to successfully pull it off
Beside all of my tattoo paranoia, I think they are absolutely SPECTACULAR! They are everything their image portrays… sexy, intricate, meaningful, spectacular, mysterious… and mostly – a beautiful piece of ART!
And I truly believe that a tattoo tells you a maddening amount about who the person on the inside is… external beauty that represents inner. An excuse to bond, to question and meet with others… and that is exactly what the world needs – forms of unity expressed in different ways.
So, anybody DO have a tattoo/tattoos?
If you do, I’d love to see a pic that I could later feature in a post

My Home Sweet Home
This little “shrine to love” as I like to call it, hangs above my bed in my bedroom. I made it out of postcards to surprise Vlad. They all say the things you need to say or at least put into action every day you are in a relationship. Words to express the true appreciation you have for one another. Whenever I look at this from my bed I feel like somehow our love is being protected. I “love” it
Oh well now look who we have here – Madame le PUG!!! She is my definition of home! When my mom or brother babysits her and she is away – I feel completely lonely
Here we are in the bathroom. I absolutely adore Marvis toothpaste (check out my archives for a past blog post), and there are not many places you can find it anymore! So, when I venture downtown I make sure to stock up a la max! Roger & Gallet soaps are always awesome for bath time and I always keep a few on hand for gifts, etc… Those scented sticks underneath are in a lotus oil from Fruits & Passions – light, but effective!
Marilyn also hangs in my bathroom. Something about a glamorous bathroom that gets me every time!
This is a miniature hallway in my apartment (right beside the bathroom), that has lots of sentimental value to me. Pictures of family and friends partying, and a vase filled with ostrich feathers from my trip to South Africa! The Moroccan-styled table was made and given to me by one of my neighbors! She makes old antiques into beautiful showpieces!
I adore these big mirrors (I have two in my place), as they make the whole area look so much larger! My overflowing CD collection (I am a junkie), my rock band guitar, some twisty sticks in fancy vases and my wooden giraffe and hippo from Africa! Woot! Woot!
Wow, what do you know… more Africa souvenirs!!! From ostrich eggs, to semi precious stones and minerals, to my zebra skin box – everything is attached to a beautiful memory. This lamp is for my new place which I will be moving into in about two weeks! Heray! More pics to come!
Now get this. You will not believe this, but Vlad went downstairs this morning to get the camera from the car in the garage, and found this amazing canvas IN THE GARBAGE?!?!?!?!!!! He and I have pretty similar tastes when it comes to art, so he rescued it and brought it up for me as a gift!!! I was, and still am completely ecstatic to have this gorgeous piece of art displayed in my home. Just goes to prove that one man’s trash is anothers treasure Last but not least is my anti-evil eye! For as long as I have moved out, I have placed this beside my front door to protect my family and I (Vlad and pug). It has not yet let me down!
